The Gem Spider is one of the creatures in Pixark.

Museum descriptions[]

Wild[]

Gem Spiders flaunt the gems on their backs, which is one reason they're a favorite target of hunters.

Tame[]

Although Gem Spiders are not good at fighting, you can still tame them for gems.

Subspecies[]

Sparkling gems are the Gem Spiders favorite thing of all time, so it comes as no surprise that some have mutated to carry a large gem on their back, which can be used as a light to illuminate its surroundings (hold E to activate).

Taming[]

Note: Non-magical Sleepy Arrows fired from a bow or crossbow deliver extra torpor over time for 5 seconds after impact. Only two instances of this effect can be in effect at once - a third arrow hit before the effect has fully resolved will result in potential torpor being wasted. For maximum efficiency, time your shots so that they land 5 seconds apart. The numbers given here are assuming you do so.

For passive tames, there is a long wait between the first and second feedings as the creature eats, after which it follows the feeding intervals listed. These feeding intervals are estimates - the actual interval will vary per-creature based on random chance.

Eats meat

You must stay in the magic forest while taming otherwise it will run away from you.

Does not require a saddle to ride.

Combat[]

Utility[]

Can turn 10 Quartz into seven types of magic stones, but only when patrolling!

Additional notes[]

  • The creature data file states that Gem Spiders can create Fire Magic Stones in their inventory but tests of leaving them on wander with meat in their inventories have not been able to accomplish this.
